We want more work. We want more revenue. We want leads. We want the phone to ring. We want to be busy and we want to grow.
So the phone rings and we are already in a certain frame of mind…
Whatever the person on the other end of the phone wants or needs, we are going to say yes and give them an estimate.
Maybe…and I mean maybe in the very beginning of your business, this is ok.
But other than that, this is a colossal waste of time.
When someone calls you have to qualify them – ask them questions, find out what they want, when they want it done and even how much they are looking to spend.
The more information you can gather and pull out of this person the better.
If you don’t qualify people on the phone first, you are going to be wasting a lot of time driving around, measuring, taking pictures, having conversations, preparing estimates, presenting estimates and crossing fingers… for nothing.
